Will Dumbo fly on the Great White Way? A Broadway musical version of the animated 1941 Disney movie about a baby elephant is in the works, according to The New York Post.

The movie follows the story of a Dumbo, circus elephant born with huge ears. Dumbo suffers humiliation from the other elephants and as well as children visiting the circus. But humiliation turns to triumph as Dumbo is surprised to discover that he can use his over-sized ears to fly.

Directed by Ben Sharpsteen from a story by Helen Aberson and Harold Pearl, the film features a score by Oliver Wallace, Frank Churchill and Ned Washington. It features the songs “Baby Mine,” “Pink Elephants on Parade” and “When I See an Elephant Fly.”
